Pegos Claros Grande Escolha 2017
Red | Península de Setúbal | 2017 | 13.5%
"Mid garnet. Complex, senescent red fruit, leathery sweetness. Firmly dry and chalky tannins and still showing a lot of fruit for a seven-year-old wine. Smooth and chewy. Long and fresh." (Julia Harding, 16.5+ points, Jancis.Robinson.com)

Wine Making
Informed by stellar vintages from the 1990s, Pegos Claros is enjoying a return to form under new ownership. Bernardo Cabral has reintroduced stems to the ferment and dialled down the oak, highlighting the character, not just the concentration, of 100-year-old vines.
