"A 50/50 blend of Maria Gomes and Bical grown near Sangalhos (about 80 km south of Porto) on chalky-clay and partly sandy soils. Fermented with ambient yeasts in stainless-steel tanks. Marked Atlantic influence, moderating the temperature throughout the year. Smells of hay and hawthorn and fresh herbs, with a touch of grapefruit. Makes me think of the spring. Surprising intensity from such young vines. Bright and lively but with intensity on the palate and just a very slightly creamy texture. Really tangy and juicy but also more stony/mineral on the finish. Straightforward winemaking to highlight the place of origin." Julia Harding, September 2023
