FESTA brings Portugal to London Tobacco Dock through a ground-breaking celebration of Portuguese wine, gastronomy, music, craft, arts and design.

In a tribute to festivals which are at the beating heart of traditional Portuguese culture, FESTA is the ultimate celebration of Portugal in London.

Conceived by Bar Douro’s Max Graham and The Wine Detective Sarah Ahmed, FESTA represents their joint passion for Portuguese wine and unites over 50 of Portugal’s best and brightest artisan growers and pioneering producers from across Portugal under one roof.

WINE

Festa is bringing together more than 50 of Portugal’s most pioneering and cutting-edge producers to showcase their wines. Focusing predominantly on wine growers and artisanal makers, the two-day event will showcase what’s special about Portuguese wines,with a curated line-up representing every wine region, diverse terroirs, native grape varieties, heritage techniques & invention and reinvention.

  • BAR DOURO

    Sharing the spirit of Portugal with the UK through honest food, characterful wines and the celebration of cultural stories, Bar Douro opened in 2016 in a railway arch in London Bridge and opened in Bradgate in 2020.

  • LEANDRO CARREIRA

    Acclaimed Portuguese chef Leandro Carreira will be sharing recipes from his new cookbook Portugal, exploring the country’s vibrant, globally-influenced and highly influential food culture via more than 550 classic and contemporary Portuguese recipes.

  • ROULOTE

    Taking its name from the trailers that dominate the street corners of Lisbon and Porto, Roulote celebrates Portuguese street food and sandwich culture; bringing to FESTA their iconic Bifana – a sandwich made with thinly-sliced pork shoulder, poached in a white wine & fermented pepper sauce and served in carcaças bread with savora mustard mayonnaise.

  • VOLTA DO MA

    Volta do Mar is the culmination of a journey of discovery Simon and his wife Isabel made over many years.

    The menus at Volta do Mar showcase the delicious regional cuisine of Portugal and celebrate the international culinary confluences from its trading past.

MUSIC

FESTA guests will be treated to live Portuguese music which will form the backdrop to the tasting, including traditional Portuguese guitar and piano recitals, followed by a live performance by Lara Martins and João Menezes' Trio, taking you on a journey through different styles and genres of Portuguese Music. Rita Maia, DJ and broadcaster at Giles Peterson Worldwide FM will also be showcasing music from the emerging scenes in the African countries of Portuguese language as well as Brazil and Portugal.

CULTURE

Festa will bring Portugal’s dynamic culture to life through food, music, craft, art & design. Festa’s Mercado will showcase iconic Portuguese brands celebrating the country’s rich culture of artisanal produce, craft and design. A line up of live performances will run throughout the event.
