Vitor Claro 'Caparide' Rose
Vitor Claro 'Caparide' Rose
Rose | Lisboa | 2022 | 12.2%
This pale, interesting Castelão rosé is sourced from a vineyard planted on Jurassic limestone in Lisboa's miniscule Carcavelos region, which was famous for its fortified wines. Vitor pressed 5,000 litres of juice from which he made 3,000 litres of this subtle and subtly textured redcurrant-inflected dry rosé cut with lively grapefruity acidity. He added brandy spirit to the remaining 2,000 litres, from which he will produce a rare fortified red example of Carcavelos.
